Not to mention the housing market does not match the economy. Why would I stay here and risk my health? Meanwhile, I have prospects elsewhere that pay 50k, work from home, and utilize my degree. As someone who is chronically ill, leaving the safety of my house and going into the public is a health hazard seeing as how everyone has handled the pandemic. I would have gladly worked them if we had handled the Pandemic better. I can make more at Sheetz or Aldi’s with a degree, and that’s about all the job opportunities here for me. I thought by going back to school, I would be able to provide for my children and get a decent job.
Still, I stayed anyway and was proud of my accomplishment. I failed my 200 level health class and it kept me from graduating. If you want to look up what a pilondal cyst is, it’s embarrassing and hilarious (also painful). The University didn’t even honor my University excuses my last semester when I was in the hospital with a pilonidal cyst. I’m afraid for my future - I went back to school which was a joke and mistake, but I did it. To put it one sentence, I’m desperately trying to leave because I’m afraid of the future for my family if we stay here. Nothing has changed except a Pandemic, and it’s made me even more passionate about leaving. I wrote this over a year ago when I first started thinking about moving. First, I’d like to preface this with I have been blessed with some good people I’ve met here in WV, so this doesn’t apply to you.
